1. Expect to work 20-30 hours per week in a fractional role. You should expect to attend two stand-ups (15-20 minutes each) and one longer checkpoint meeting per week (1 hour) as part of the time commitment.
2. Commitment? These are not gigs. We ask both our talent and companies to think about this just like a full-time job in terms of commitment. We’ve seen many talented folks stay at their fractional positions for years, while switching their day jobs!
3. Pay? Companies will be accessing your spare capacity, so expect to be paid at a rate close to, but less than your full-time base salary. But you will always control your rate and decide whether a position is worth your time.
Fraction focuses on long-term relationships with both talent and clients. Our model works well for engagements that are open-ended, with a number that have run for multiple years.
We don't just drop you into a project and say bye - we support you with project management and software architecture guidance throughout. This improves the experience for both you and our clients!
We vet every person we work with before bringing them on board - but we've learned to do this efficiently. Our process takes less than an hour, and we find you a role without extra interviews!
